The importance of the product life cycle is increasing. Suppressors are expensive equipment, and maintenance is crucial to keep them operational and extend their life cycle. This positively affects the total cost of ownership (TCO) of the investment.

Turbine
The turbine is the component that endures most of the gunshot heat and flame, with burning gunpowder acting like sandblasting on its surface. The shorter the barrel, the more intense this effect becomes. While Silent Steel suppressors have no barrel length restrictions, shorter barrels will cause the turbine to wear out faster. Fortunately, the turbine can be easily replaced using the maintenance tools.

Front caps
The front cap bullet channel in the Gen 2 suppressor is the same as in the turbine. Unstable bullets or an improperly attached suppressor can cause bullet strikes on the front cap. The front cap can be easily replaced using the maintenance tools.

Stainless steel filters
The stainless steel filter is essential for controlling gas flow in the Silent Steel suppressors. It must be kept clean to ensure gases can flow through the suppressor. Gun powder residue accumulates in the filter, so regular cleaning according to the user or depot service manual is necessary. Eventually, the filter will need to be replaced to maintain the suppressor’s original flow performance.
